About

Technology has been my career for over 17 years, but it’s also my hobby.

By day, I lead technology teams, deliver digital transformation and help organisations solve complex problems at scale. My focus is on building systems that are secure, reliable and genuinely improve the way people work.

When the working day finishes, I usually don’t switch off. I build things. Whether it’s creating websites, experimenting with AI, automating tedious tasks, optimising SEO, building apps, tinkering with servers or disappearing down another technology rabbit hole, I’m happiest when I’m learning something new.

What I’m about

I don’t believe technology should be complicated. The best solutions are usually the ones that quietly solve a problem so well that nobody notices them. That’s the approach I take to everything I build: simple where possible, robust where it matters, and always with the end user in mind.

Over the years I’ve worked across:

  • Enterprise IT leadership
  • Digital transformation
  • Artificial intelligence
  • Enterprise applications
  • Cyber security
  • Web development
  • Search engine optimisation (SEO)
  • Automation and low-code platforms
  • Cloud infrastructure
  • Data and analytics

Outside of work

Life isn’t all keyboards and terminals. You’ll usually find me spending time with my fiancée Maddie and our growing family, taking the campervan somewhere new, training for another 5K, reading far too many books, or convincing myself that one more home tech project is definitely a good idea.

I’m also fascinated by productivity, decision making and finding smarter ways to solve everyday problems, which is what led me to start building resources under the How to Win brand.

Why this site exists

This isn’t a corporate website. It’s a place to share the projects I’m working on, the lessons I’ve learnt, interesting technology I’ve discovered, and the occasional deep dive into subjects that catch my attention. Some posts will be technical. Some won’t. Hopefully you’ll leave having learnt something useful.
